Salary/Rate: £9.50 per hour +12.07% holiday enhancement
Work Hours: Up to 15 hours per week plus holiday cover
Contract: Bank
Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire


To effectively manage the kitchen for 18 residents (Lunch and Supper) by achieving the highest standard of food production. To control and manage the food cost in line with the budget, source ingredients in accordance with the Company’s sourcing policy and control production and portions in line with agreed specifications.

  • Statutory food hygiene certificates
  • Minimum Level 2 in catering or equivalent experience/qualification
  • Relevant cooking experience.
  • Experience in managing the kitchen without any assistants.
  • Willing to work on Alternate Weekends (MUST).
  • Must be able to design the menu based on resident’s taste and also bring innovation via new dishes.
  • Able to demonstrate cooking skills for modern British, Chinese and Indian dishes.
  • Experience of cooking variety of suppers (Salads, Sandwiches, Wraps and comfort food).
  • Must have experience of managing kitchen supplies from ordering, auditing, replenishing and keeping the costs within the budgets of Kitchen.
  • Demonstrable experience of catering for varying dietary requirements (i.e gluten, free, diabetic etc)
  • Must be able to achieve highest (5 STAR) on local council food standard.
  • Understanding of food safety and infection control rules & regulations.
