From Uncertainty to Stability; A Collaborative MDT Response at Baldock Manor

A real outcome service user case study

A 62-year-old woman with no previous mental health history was referred to Nouvita Healthcare after a sudden and unexpected deterioration in her thinking, behaviour and day-to-day functioning. Her family were deeply concerned, and the early signs suggested a complex presentation requiring immediate support and specialist assessment.

From the moment she arrived at Baldock Manor, our multidisciplinary team worked collaboratively to understand her needs and stabilise her wellbeing. Nurses, support workers, medical staff and psychologists each played an active role – providing reassurance, ensuring safety, and exploring possible underlying causes. Her symptoms fluctuated significantly, and the team adapted continuously, responding with patience, persistence and compassion.

As her journey unfolded, the complexity of her condition prompted deeper investigation. The team pursued further specialist assessments and external expertise, committed to ensuring she received the right care, in the right place, at the right time. Throughout, her family remained closely involved, supported and informed at every step.

What followed was a powerful example of how high-quality, person-centred mental health care can make a meaningful difference during a period of significant uncertainty. The full case study reveals how the team worked together to achieve a safe, positive and forward-moving outcome.
