Our service
At No 7 and No 8 Windsor House, each individual has a tenancy agreement, and support is provided during daytime hours to guide tenants to become more confident in their daily living skills, such as meal planning, cooking, shopping, attending appointments, and access to employment, education, and training.
Residents supported
We support individuals with enduring mental health conditions who may have additional forensic histories and substance or alcohol abuse difficulties and who may be subject to MAPPA (multi-agency public protection arrangements), MOJ (Ministry of Justice), or probation conditions.
Encouraging independence
Tenants are supported in applying for benefits and managing their money to contribute to household bills, pay for shopping, and have spending money for leisure activities.
The Windsor Houses benefit from their proximity to Winnett Cottage, where 24-hour support can be accessed in urgent need or emergency.
Our services are always person-centred, and the level of support is tailored to the individual’s needs to ensure the success of the tenancy. The tenants are involved every step of the way to ensure that they are listened to and contribute to developing their goals and support plan.
Activities programme
Tenants are free to come and go as they please (subject to any CTO or probationary conditions).
Individuals can participate in community-based activities such as day trips, holidays, and gardening groups. They are encouraged to participate in meaningful activities provided by charities such as Mind and YMCA, which offer a full range of therapeutic and leisurely activities that our tenants can continue using once they have moved to independent living.
We support those who wish to engage in vocational training, volunteering, or paid work. We help them to identify and apply for appropriate opportunities and accompany them during their early steps until they are confident.
We also help individuals to organise housing and apply for benefits when ready to move into supported or independent living.
At the houses, tenants enjoy our large gardens and games rooms with pool tables, table tennis, dart boards, game consoles, and fridges. They also enjoy in-house art and music workshops and fitness sessions run by Nouvita’s own personal trainer.
Facilities
No 7 and No 8 Windsor House each have shared communal areas such as the lounge, kitchen, pleasant garden, and individual bedrooms as part of the Tenancy. There is one communal bathroom and an additional downstairs toilet in each house.
“The staff member who supports me is one of the most caring people I have met.”
