About the Role:
As our Consultant Psychiatrist, you’ll be a visible and respected leader—collaborating closely with a dedicated multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care. Your role will combine hands-on clinical responsibilities with strategic leadership, helping us uphold the highest regulatory standards and continuously improve our services.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a talented clinical team, shaping treatment services based on best-practice, evidence-based care.
Oversee a defined patient caseload and ensure outstanding psychiatric care across the hospital.
Collaborate with senior management and external stakeholders to deliver integrated, high-quality services.
Mentor and support fellow Consultant Psychiatrists through clinical supervision, appraisal, and revalidation.
Champion a culture of professional growth, learning, and innovation.
Play an active role in quality improvement initiatives, audits, CPD, and research.
What You’ll Need:
Qualifications:
GMC Registration
Section 12(2) Approved
Approved Clinician Status
MRCPsych and in good CPD standing
Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ in-patient psychiatry experience
Experience in Psychiatric Intensive Care and/or Acute Services
Proven clinical leadership and decision-making skills
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act (MHA) & Mental Capacity Act (MCA)
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
Strong understanding of in-patient psychiatric best practices
🕘 Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
