Hours: 9am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday (no shifts or weekends)
Salary: £53,800, plus welcome bonus and excellent benefits package

We’re looking for an experienced Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Nurse to join us as a Service Lead across two acute mental health wards. This is a weekday, daytime position — no shifts, no nights — offering genuine work–life balance and the chance to lead a passionate, multidisciplinary team delivering outstanding care.
As Service Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining clinical excellence, supporting your team, and shaping how high-quality, compassionate mental health care is delivered at Baldock Manor Hospital.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and inspire a dedicated team across two acute wards, promoting best practice and professional excellence.

Foster a supportive, collaborative culture where staff feel valued and motivated.

Ensure safe staffing levels and effective rota planning to deliver consistent, high-quality care.

Provide hands-on clinical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the team.

Oversee ward operations, ensuring compliance with MHA, CPA, NMC, and hospital standards.

Manage ward budgets and resources responsibly to achieve cost-effective, high-quality outcomes.

Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Play an active role in clinical governance, ensuring safe, evidence-based, and effective care.

Maintain clear communication with senior management and support hospital-wide goals.
About You
-
Registered professional in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing.

Strong background in mental health care.

Proven leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.

Demonstrated experience of leading teams of 30 staff upwards

Demonstrated experience in managing finances and budgets.

Understanding and experience of clinical governance and quality improvement.

Confident managing teams, operations, and service delivery in a dynamic environment.
