Build a Meaningful Career With Industry-Leading Training & Support

At Nouvita Healthcare, we offer a high-quality Learning & Development (L&D) programme designed to help every colleague – Support Workers, Nurses, Therapists, Administrators and Managers – build a long, rewarding and successful career.

Our training approach combines strong induction, continuous professional development, and clear career progression pathways. Whether you’re new to care or an experienced healthcare professional, Nouvita provides the knowledge, support and confidence you need to thrive.

Our Learning & Development Philosophy

Our L&D model is built on three principles that support both exceptional care and exceptional careers:

Start strong with a structured induction

Every new colleague receives high-quality training from day one. Our induction blends face-to-face learning, e-learning modules, core skills workshops and hands-on practical training. It ensures you feel safe, supported and fully prepared for your new role.

Keep growing with ongoing development

From technical skills to therapeutic approaches and leadership development, our training doesn’t stop after induction. We provide continuous professional development (CPD), specialist modules, supervision, coaching and reflective practice.

Progress through real career pathways

We promote internal progression wherever possible. Many of our leaders began their journey as Support Workers or newly qualified Nurses. We support your ambitions with role-specific training, recognised qualifications and opportunities to take on more responsibility.

A Strong Start: Your Induction Training

Our induction programme prepares new starters with the essential skills required to deliver safe, compassionate and effective care in our mental health and residential services.

During induction, you’ll complete a mix of face-to-face workshops and online learning covering subjects such as:

  • Basic Life Support
  • Fire safety and emergency procedures
  • Safeguarding adults
  • Mental Capacity Act & DoLS
  • Manual Handling and safe working practices
  • Recording & reporting standards
  • Observations training
  • Breakaway (everyone) plus PMVA (service-dependent)
  • Oliver McGowan Level 1 and 2
  • NDTI Autism

This training ensures you gain the confidence, competence and professional foundation needed for your role – especially important for Support Workers, Nurses and staff working in complex mental health environments.

Ongoing training throughout your career

Once you have settled into your role, you’ll continue to expand your knowledge and skills through a structured programme of refresher courses, specialist clinical training, workshops and personal development sessions.

Ongoing professional development includes topics such as:

  • Mental health awareness
  • Mental Health Act updates
  • Carer’s awareness and person-centred practice
  • Physical health and clinical skills (service-dependent)
  • Safeguarding refreshers
  • Teamwork and communication
  • Seclusion and emergency response (hospital services)
  • START risk assessment
  • Suicide prevention training

We review training regularly to ensure it meets sector standards, reflects best practice and supports our commitment to delivering high-quality care.

Further training is available for staff, including HCPA training and development, access to QICN training for Nursing Home staff and QNPICU training for hospital staff, and a wide range of LDSS training courses.
