What is EMDR Therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a unique, internationally recognised powerful therapy that helps people recover from problems triggered by traumatic events in their lives. It stops difficult memories causing distress by helping the brain to reprocess them properly, working with memory to heal the legacy of past pain.

EMDR therapy is best known for treating PTSD but it can help with a range of mental health conditions in people of all ages including depression and anxiety, and has helped millions of people worldwide.

EMDR therapy is endorsed by the NHS, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, the World Health Organisation, The International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and many other bodies.

Couples Therapy

Strong relationships are built on communication, trust, and understanding , but even the closest couples can experience times of tension, distance, or repeated conflict. Many couples find themselves caught in the same difficult patterns, where important feelings remain unspoken and misunderstandings grow over time. When this happens, relationships can begin to feel strained, frustrating, or stuck.

Couples therapy offers the space to pause, reflect, and begin meaningful conversations with the guidance of an experienced therapist. At Nouvita, we help couples uncover what may be sitting beneath the surface, understand each other more deeply, and develop healthier ways of responding to one another.

Whether your relationship is facing a specific difficulty or you simply want to strengthen it, couples therapy can offer valuable support and direction.
Take the first step today. Contact Nouvita to learn more about our couples therapy service and how we can help you move forward together.

Professional Background

I have also provided counselling within a cancer support centre, working with individuals and their families to navigate the psychological and emotional impact of a cancer diagnosis and the challenges of treatment.

Alongside this, I run a private practice. I specialise in working with eating disorders, disordered eating, and difficulties in relationship with food. I also provide therapeutic support to families and carers, recognising the wider impact these challenges can have and the importance of a supportive network in recovery.

Therapeutic Approach
I work from an integrative approach, tailoring my work to each client’s individual needs rather than following a single model. I offer online and remote sessions for adults, creating a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where clients feel heard and supported. My approach is collaborative, meaning we work together at your pace, focusing on what feels most important to client and supporting meaningful, lasting change.

How I Work With Clients
I create a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment where clients feel able to explore their experiences openly. Working with empathy, compassion, and understanding, I support clients in exploring their thoughts, emotions, and relationships at a pace that feels right for them.

Drawing on Emotion-Focused Therapy, I help clients deepen their awareness of their emotional world, gain insight into underlying patterns, and reconnect with their own strengths and internal resources to support meaningful and lasting change.

Additional Skills or Interests
I specialise in supporting individuals experiencing eating disorders and disordered eating, with a focus on helping clients develop a more balanced and compassionate relationship with food.

Together, we explore and better understand patterns in eating behaviours, supporting greater awareness and change. I also work with families and carers, offering guidance and support to those affected by a loved one’s eating disorder, and recognising the vital role they play in the recovery process.

Professional Title: Person-Centred Counsellor

I offer person-centred counselling in English and in Hungarian.

Professional Registration
BACP-registered, registration number: 418866

Qualifications
MA Person-centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy, University of Nottingham (ongoing)
Practitioner License in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD), Metanoia Institute

Professional Background
After my BA Degree in Psychology I acquired in Budapest, Hungary, I completed my MA Degree in Person-centred Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Nottingham, UK. Over the training, I completed my 1-year-placement at a hospice, offering bereavement counselling to adults, and I volunteered to work with children and young people. Following my qualification, I started building up my private one-to-one counselling practice for adults. It was over this time that I became interested in counselling for depression, which is why I feel fortunate to have got the opportunity to join the team at Nouvita.

Therapeutic Approach
I am a person-centred counsellor, which is a humanistic approach to psychotherapy that puts you in the centre, through the counsellor’s trust in you and your personal power. The way counselling works is that, ideally, the counselling relationship becomes one in which you feel safe to be yourself and explore whatever it is that feels to you would be the best direction to go (because you are the expert of your own experiences). My aim is to create a safe environment in which you can talk about anything, which should help you in the process of becoming your authentic self. This can include finding answers to your problems, accepting certain things in your life, or making decisions that are right for you.

Areas I Can Support With

  • Self-esteem
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Traumatic experiences
  • Existential concerns
  • Uncertainties related to identity

Types of Therapy Offered

  • Individual Therapy
  • Bereavement Counselling
  • Anxiety Support
  • Depression Support

How I Work With Clients
As I trust your expertise in your experiences as well as your capabilities to know what is best for you, my goal in creating the therapeutic space is to help you to tap into this knowledge that you already possess, whatever the nature of this knowledge might be. I aim to facilitate this by fully trusting you in this process, unconditionally accepting you as a whole, empathically understanding you, and remaining genuine, without any facades, throughout. My hope is that this creates a space where you re able to be your authentic self and find answers to your problems, come to terms with certain things in your life, or make the right choices for you.

Additional Skills or Interests
I am a trained bereavement counsellor, and I have experience working with bereaved individuals. I am also interested in working with clients at the end of life. I offer counselling both in English and in Hungarian.

Professional Background
I am a bilingual counsellor offering therapy in English and Polish.

I have experience supporting adults and young people in private practice, school counselling settings, bereavement support, and care environments.

My professional background also includes many years of working with children, young people and adults with additional needs, which has helped me develop a compassionate, flexible and person-centred way of working.

I currently work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, bereavement, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, stress, trauma-related difficulties and life transitions.

Therapeutic Approach
My approach is pluralistic and person-centred at its core, which means I aim to work collaboratively with each client in a way that feels meaningful and helpful for them. I draw from different therapeutic approaches, including Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, Psychodynamic ideas, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis, depending on the client’s needs and goals.

How I Work With Clients

My role is not to tell clients what to do, but to help them understand themselves more clearly, reconnect with their own strengths, and find ways forward that feel realistic and meaningful. I believe therapy works best when it is adapted to the person, rather than expecting every client to fit one fixed approach.
