Nouvita Healthcare has completed on the acquisition of six services from Lansdowne Care Services ltd, which had fallen into administration, adding the established Learning Disability services to its growing portfolio across Bedfordshire.
The acquisition includes three Learning Disability day centres; The Burys, Saddlers Farm and Ashdowne, and three residential care homes; Bromham Road, Lansdowne Road and The Leys. Together, the services provide much-needed specialist, person-centred support for adults with learning disabilities, autism and associated mental health needs across Bedfordshire.
This strategic expansion significantly strengthens Nouvita Healthcare’s Learning Disability pathway, broadening its offer across both residential and community-based day services and enhancing its ability to work in partnership with local authorities.
Strengthening Local Specialist Provision
The newly acquired services are well-established within the Bedfordshire community, with many service users having been using these services for multiple years, and in some cases, decades.
The Burys, Saddlers Farm and Ashdowne deliver structured, meaningful day opportunities focused on life skills, social development, therapeutic activity and community integration. The services are designed to promote independence, build confidence and support individuals to lead fulfilling lives.
The residential homes: Bromham Road, Lansdowne Road and The Leys, provide high-quality, homely environments where individuals benefit from tailored care, positive behavioural support and long-term, relationship-led placements.
Nouvita Healthcare’s leadership team believes the acquisition represents an important step in strengthening specialist Learning Disability provision locally, at a time when demand for high-quality placements continues to grow. It is also pleased that these services will remain open for the service users who rely on them, and that over 70 local jobs have been saved as a result of this acquisition.
A Platform for Sustainable Growth
Speaking about the acquisition, Phil Massetti, CEO of Nouvita Healthcare said:
“We are proud to welcome these six excellent services into Nouvita Healthcare. This acquisition reflects our long-term commitment to investing in specialist Learning Disability provision and ensuring individuals have access to safe, high-quality, person-centred care close to home.
These services have strong reputations locally, and we are excited to build on that foundation; supporting colleagues, service users and local authorities as part of a strengthened, sustainable organisation.”
The move further positions Nouvita Healthcare as a significant independent provider within the region, with an integrated model that spans mental health and learning disability services. By expanding into additional day provision alongside residential care, the organisation is better placed to offer comprehensive support packages tailored to individual need.
Supporting Communities and Local Authorities
For local authorities and commissioners, the expanded portfolio increases access to flexible, community-based day services as well as stable, long-term residential placements for individuals with complex needs, including autism and forensic backgrounds.
The acquisition also represents continued investment in local employment and specialist care expertise across Bedfordshire.
As Nouvita Healthcare continues to grow, its focus remains firmly on delivering compassionate, outcome-driven care that promotes independence, dignity and meaningful quality of life for the people it supports.
