Hours: Full-time, including one weekend day every other week (12 month Fixed-Term-Contract)

Are you looking to be at the centre of a dynamic therapy team, delivering an exceptional evidence-based rehabilitation programme? We’re looking for someone to support our Senior Occupational Therapist while taking on meaningful responsibilities of their own.
This is an exciting opportunity for a full-time (to include some weekend hours) Activities Coordinator to join an established, dynamic and effective Psychology & Therapies Team at Baldock Manor Hospital in Baldock, Hertfordshire. Baldock Manor Hospital offers a comprehensive and person-centred range of treatments within our Female PICU and Older Age acute wards for women and men with mental illness, personality disorders, and sometimes, complex physical health needs.
Main objectives of the role
Therapeutic Activities & Support
- To support Senior Occupational Therapist and Psychology & Therapies team in delivering a programme of high standard and evidence based therapeutic interventions in group and individual formats.
- To work on under the supervision of Senior Occupational Therapist
- To work closely and co-operatively with all departments in ensuring effective service provision in a safe environment is maintained for all service users
Key Responsibilities will include:
- To deliver a range of group therapeutic activities with allocated patients in a variety of mediums and situations.
- This may include working in the hospital or supporting service users to access the local community.
- Therapeutic activities may include group work or one-to-one work.
- Therapeutic activities may require being physically active, such as (but not limited to) facilitating walking groups.
- To support Senior Occupational Therapist in planning, implementing and evaluating therapeutic programme ensuring that it considers the needs of the patient population and is person centred at the core.
Key Duties
- Completing interest checklists with new patients on admission and uploading onto Nourish.
- Facilitating ward- and community-based group activities (as appropriate to the current patient mix) encouraging engagement and monitoring interactions between patients.
- Be enthusiastic and adaptable to cater for individual needs.
- Completing one-to-one activity sessions promoting meaningful occupation and productive use of time.
- Record keeping on Nourish and Microsoft Excel.
- Reporting to OT or Head of Therapies with any concerns, issues or recommended changes.
